Description

As SpaceX begins to write another new chapter in the history of spaceflight, giving a new generation a beloved "Dragon", worthy of being spoken of in the same breath as my generation's beloved "Eagle", it is always exciting to look back to see how we got to this point, and as some old hippies once sang, "What a long, strange trip it's been!" This shirt has been one of our worst kept secrets for over 20 years. Never created for any particular holiday, anniversary or milestone, THE HISTORY OF SPACEFLIGHT has been a loving tribute to those who never believed that the sky was the limit, regardless of nationality. Beginning with Robert Goddard's work to launch the first liquid-fuel rocket (1926) to Mir, originally the Soviet Union's (then Russia's) orbiting Space Station, and highlighting Sputnik, Apollo 11, Viking, Voyager and the Space Shuttle, this shirt might seem to need some updating, but that is the point...it celebrates a slice of history even as it IS one..which is why we continue to carry it to this day...and why it remains as popular as it ever was! Now, as much as we should rightfully honor and celebrate SpaceX, I do have some questions, issues and serious concerns with their upper management's decisions. For such a proud moment in US space history, and such a historic, maiden voyage, what on Earth made them decide to use these particular Canadian brothers, Bob and Doug, from the Great White North??? Ok, so if the guys from RUSH asked them to do this, I'm all for it but for anyone less than that, I'm not so sure. I mean, did you actually listen to the in-cabin chatter before launch??? "Good day, eh, and welcome to our first space flight." "Hey, Hoser! Did you remember to pack some back bacon and beer?" "Yeah, I packed the second stage FULL! Beauty, eh?" "It better not be any of that CORONA beer!" "This is going to be our best launch EVER!" "Oh, TAKE OFF!" From our current line-up of popular T-shirts. Up for sale is a less-than-comprehensive look at the HISTORY OF SPACEFLIGHT on a T-shirt which, even after all of these years, is still as relevant as it is attractive. While never a "Top 10" design, it holds a strong place in the hearts of any and all space buffs and especially NASA fans, content to wear this shirt figuring it's as close as most will ever get to Space. While some say this may represent NASA'S "Golden Years", some (like Us!) insist that in spite of some ups and downs (and dealing with a few "dips" along the way), as long as they exist, NASA is STILL having Golden Years, even as politicians continue to try to gut and decimate the only federal agency to have ever made a profit for this country!!!!! Ok, now back to this shirt... These are BRAND NEW, FIRST QUALITY, preshrunk 100% cotton shirts, available in size SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE, XL, XXL (EXTRA EXTRA LARGE, DOUBLE XL, 2XL) and/or XXXL (TRIPLE XL, 3XL). This is an original full-color design, screen-printed onto top quality ALSTYLE APPAREL COTTON shirts for durability and long life...this is NOT some cheap iron-on design.
